The trip to Holland is always enjoyable and restful. We stay in the Hotel De Rijper Eilenden which is just outside of the village of De Rijper about 22 miles from Amsterdam. The hotel has facilities which are second to none, purpose built for disabled use it has the space of a large barn whilst maintaining the comfort of a first class hotel. Access and manoeuvrability are never a problem and all rooms have very large disabled bathrooms.

With Amsterdam and Edam very close by there are no shortage of venues and attractions to visit. We would normally take in a cheese and clog making factory, limiting our shopping to the day out in Amsterdam. A boat trip is a must and combined with the trip to the factory always proves to be enjoyable. A day out to the fishing port of Marken is bliss itself just watching the sailing boats passing by.
